Praha 38, or The Importance of Dialogue
My friend Sara wrote a blog entry describing her decision to study in Israel, as opposed to Prague. If you read the entry, you will see that it frustrated and infuriated me. I don't think my thoughts were very coherent, actually, and I hope I can revisit them soon. In the meantime, I'm going to try and write some poetry about it.
In other news, I'm going to visit the lovely Abby in London tomorrow! See you all when I get back!

This is one of those things that I think I'll have to discuss with you in person when you return. Partly because I feel there is a great potential for writtens words and "tone" to be taken the wrong way, and partly because it's such a complicated topic.
And like I said to you before, my reluctance to discuss these topics publicly is partly because I feel like I am "intruding" on a debate that is not mine to enter (Jewbana mother or not!).
The comment "There are two different kinds of Jews in this world" did strike me particularly hard, though. Perhaps it's all the recent discussion and teaching about gender, but I find it hard to believe that there are only two types of *anything* in this world.
We can generalize any group of people into two categories but (like I said in a post about gender) we are then choosing to ignore the beauty of the spectrum in between.
I think I am going to learn a lot from you when we finally have a chance to sit down and chat about your experiences on this trip...
P.S. On a lighter note, please make sure to pass my phone number on to George Michael should you run into him whilst in London ;)
*hugs*
Have fun in London! Give Abby a hug from me. (And tell her to give you one from me also. :p)
